MAW - Management of Academic Workloads

MAW and Promoting Positive Gender Outcomes Project

'Promoting Positive Gender Outcomes in HE through Active Workload Management'

This HEFCE funded project commenced in January 2011 and interviews have been completed with all case studies. They have been transcribed and  coded using NVIVO software to sort emerging themes. These themes have been used in workshops to focus discussions around actions that can be taken to help women with career progression issues. Surveys are now being planned to capture experience of a wider group. These results are being used to inform enquiry on workload models data capture.  Specifically we are working with staff using technical data within MAW systems to assess the sort of data that needs to be captured on the workloads of particular groups,(at this stage particularly women), whose progression/income profile compares unfavourably with mens'.

The full report from this work will be available on this website at the end of the study in summer 2012.
